— — the road that runs along the front of the range.
“The Teton Park Road runs north from Moose along the east side of the range, closer to the peaks than the highway across the valley. North of Cottonwood Creek the Cathedral Group fills the windshield — Teewinot, Mount Owen, and the Grand standing in a line. Sagebrush flat, lodgepole margin, the Snake River out of sight to the east, and a wall of rock to the west. from the studio
Each tile is finished by hand in our Knoxville studio. Artwork is slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, and rests beneath a thin glossy finish. The colour lives in the surface, not on top of it.

The Teton Park Road runs about 20 miles between Moose and Jackson Lake Junction inside Grand Teton National Park. It is the inner of the two parallel roads up the valley, the outer being US 26/89/191. The Cathedral Group is the cluster of summits at the centre of the range: the Grand Teton at 13,775 feet, Mount Owen at 12,933 feet, and Teewinot at 12,330 feet, with Mount Teewinot and Nez Perce Peak flanking the south. The grouping was named for its resemblance to a cathedral facade.
The peaks face roughly east, so the Cathedral Group catches first light around sunrise from June through August. Pull-offs at the Glacier View Turnout and the Cathedral Group Turnout face the wall directly. In late September the cottonwoods along the Snake River turn yellow against the dark range. Afternoon light flattens the wall; the strongest hours are the first hour after sunrise and the last hour before sunset, when shadow falls across the canyons that divide the peaks.
Most of the Teton Park Road is open from about May 1 through October 31, depending on snow. A long section between Taggart Lake trailhead and Signal Mountain Lodge is closed to motor vehicles from November through April and used by skiers and cyclists. The Cathedral Group Turnout sits about 8 miles north of Moose, with interpretive signs naming each summit. Park entry requires a fee or pass. Wildlife jams for moose, bison, and bear are common; pull fully off the road before stopping.
