Kings Dominion

— the Eiffel Tower the highway built.

Where it lives

Not only on a wall.

A small tile on the nightstand catching the morning. A larger one above the fire. Yours, wherever you spend the slow hours.
On the nightstand, a 6-inch on a walnut stand
Among the books, a 6-inch leaning into the spines
Beside the kettle, a 12-inch propped
Down a quiet hall, an 18-inch floating off the wall

a note from the studio

A 400-acre amusement park in Doswell, Virginia, opened in 1975 about twenty miles north of Richmond off Interstate 95. A one-third-scale Eiffel Tower replica rises 315 feet over the midway, visible from the highway. The roller-coaster line-up has anchored the park for decades: Intimidator 305, Twisted Timbers, Anaconda, Racer 75. Soak City water park sits inside the perimeter under the same admission.

Kings Dominion, on ceramic.

Each tile is finished by hand in our Knoxville studio. Artwork is slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, and rests beneath a thin glossy finish. The colour lives in the surface, not on top of it.

about the place

The park opened in May 1975, developed by the Family Leisure division of Taft Broadcasting. It has since operated under Paramount, Cedar Fair, and as of the 2024 merger, the combined Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.

Intimidator 305 is the headline hyper-coaster, cresting at 305 feet with a top speed near 90 miles per hour. Twisted Timbers is a steel-on-wood hybrid by Rocky Mountain Construction. Anaconda, Racer 75, and Apple Zapple round out the line-up.

about the piece in your home

It tends to land well with families who counted the park as a summer ritual. The artwork holds the Eiffel Tower, the midway sightline, and the coaster ridge together. A Medium reads well in a den.

The amber, red, and tower-grey palette suits Americana, vintage-poster, and warm eclectic rooms. It pairs naturally with family-photo walls and a den's mix of wood and leather without pulling colour from the arrangement.

A single Large carries a standard sofa wall. A 4-tile Mural extends the midway and tower across a wider den or playroom wall. A Small reads better above a desk or in a child's bedroom.

Yes. Order Dura Satin or Matte for any wet wall. The colour is slowly infused into the ceramic surface beneath a thin protective layer and tolerates steam, splash, and daily cleaning without lifting.

A microfibre cloth and warm water. Skip abrasive pads and ammonia-based sprays. The finish is sealed so dust wipes off without effort, and the colour holds through years of regular cleaning.

Yes. Every WenderVista piece is created in our family studio in Knoxville, Tennessee. We do not license images, and each place is researched and painted in-house before it enters the atlas.
