— the city the holidays remember.
“Twenty-two acres of Art Deco between Fifth and Sixth, anchored by the limestone tower at 30 Rock. The plaza drops to a sunken rink in winter and a cafe in summer, with Prometheus gilded above it and the Norway spruce raised every December. Skaters take the ice in shifts, the brass railings catch the light, and the crowd stays late after dark.
Each tile is finished by hand in our Knoxville studio. Artwork is slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, and rests beneath a thin glossy finish. The colour lives in the surface, not on top of it.

Rockefeller Center is a twenty-two acre commercial complex in midtown Manhattan, built by the Rockefeller family between 1931 and 1939 and designed by a consortium led by Raymond Hood. Fourteen original Art Deco buildings stretch from 48th to 51st Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The centerpiece, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, rises 850 feet and houses NBC Studios. The complex was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987 and remains one of the most visited sites in New York City.
The sunken plaza is built for winter light. Paul Manship's gilded Prometheus, installed in 1934, faces west across the rink and catches the late afternoon sun off the limestone. From the first week of December the Norway spruce stands above it, lit with about 50,000 LED bulbs and topped by a Swarovski star. The Top of the Rock observation deck at 30 Rock opens until midnight in season, giving the only midtown view that includes the Empire State Building straight on.
The plaza and rink are open to the public year-round, with the ice rink running roughly October through April. Skating sessions are timed and ticketed through The Rink at Rockefeller Center; reservations sell out on tree-lighting weekend, traditionally the Wednesday after Thanksgiving. Top of the Rock tickets are timed-entry and book ahead for the hour around sunset. The 47th-50th Streets Rockefeller Center subway station on the B, D, F, and M lines opens directly into the concourse.
