Hersheypark

— the park the chocolate town built for itself.

Where it lives

Not only on a wall.

A small tile on the nightstand catching the morning. A larger one above the fire. Yours, wherever you spend the slow hours.
On the nightstand, a 6-inch on a walnut stand
Among the books, a 6-inch leaning into the spines
Beside the kettle, a 12-inch propped
Down a quiet hall, an 18-inch floating off the wall
Above the fire, the 24-inch in a walnut surround
a note from the studio

A family amusement park in the chocolate town northeast of Harrisburg. Milton Hershey opened it in 1906 as a picnic ground for the factory workers. It grew into the park families now drive a day to reach. The streetlights downtown are still shaped like Kisses. The smell of cocoa drifts in from the factory when the wind is right.

Each tile is finished by hand in our Knoxville studio. Artwork is slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, and rests beneath a thin glossy finish. The colour lives in the surface, not on top of it.

about Hersheypark

The place, in three passes.

A little of what's known, in case you fall down the rabbit hole — or want to go see it yourself.
the place

Hersheypark sits in Hershey, Pennsylvania, about fifteen miles east of Harrisburg in Dauphin County. Milton S. Hershey opened the grounds in 1906 as a recreation area for employees of the Hershey Chocolate Company. The park has grown to roughly 121 acres and now operates more than seventy rides, including fifteen roller coasters. ZooAmerica, an eleven-acre North American wildlife park, shares the property and is included with admission. The town itself is built around the factory; the main intersection downtown is named Chocolate Avenue and Cocoa Avenue, and the streetlights along it are shaped like Kisses.

the year

The park runs three overlapping seasons. The main summer season opens in late March and runs through Labor Day. Hersheypark in the Dark begins in late September with Halloween overlays on most attractions. Christmas Candylane follows from early November through New Year, when more than five million lights are strung through the grounds. Coaster enthusiasts time visits for early May, when crowds are still light and every ride is open. The park closes for routine maintenance in late January and February before opening again in the spring.

the visit

Tickets are sold by the day or by season pass through the Hersheypark website; admission includes ZooAmerica and the Hershey's Chocolate World tour ride next door is separately free. Parking is paid, running from preferred lots near the main gate to general lots a short tram ride away. The park is wheelchair-accessible and offers a Boarding Pass return-time system at most rides. The closest train station is Harrisburg, twenty-five minutes west; Amtrak runs the Keystone Service from Philadelphia and New York via Harrisburg, and a shuttle connects to the park in season.

about the piece in your home

The park is woven into the childhoods of many families across Pennsylvania and the mid-Atlantic. A Small or Medium tile with a handwritten studio note carries the place better than a photo ever does.

The warm chocolate-and-amber palette pairs with Traditional, American Craftsman, and warm Maximalist rooms. The stained-glass treatment also works in playful kids' spaces where saturated colour is welcome.

A single Large fits most sofas. A 4-tile Mural lets the carousel and coasters spread across a wider wall; a 9-tile Mural turns it into a full feature wall above a console.

Yes, in the Dura Satin or Matte finish. Both are scratch-resistant and handle steam and daily wipe-downs. The Glossy finish suits dry framed walls in living rooms and hallways.

A soft microfibre cloth with water. No abrasives, no ammonia-based sprays. The colour is infused into the ceramic surface and will not lift with normal cleaning.

Yes. Every WenderVista piece is painted in-house in our Knoxville studio in our own stained-glass and alcohol-ink visual language. We do not license imagery from other artists or photo libraries.
