Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure opened June 13, 2019 at Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando, inside the Hogsmeade section of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The attraction occupies the former site of Dragon Challenge, which closed in September 2017. The coaster runs nearly a kilometre of track through a heavily themed Forbidden Forest section, drawing on the world J.K. Rowling created in the novels and Warner Bros. expanded across eight films released between 2001 and 2011.
Universal's Islands of Adventure sits inside Universal Orlando Resort off I-4 at exits 74A and 75A. A theme-park ticket is required, either single-park or a two-park pass with Universal Studios Florida. Hagrid's still draws long queues seven years after opening, with standby waits regularly running ninety to one hundred and fifty minutes on weekends. Single-rider and virtual line options are offered through the Universal Orlando app at varying hours through the day, often filling before mid-morning.
The coaster has run since June 2019, with two extended closures in 2020 and 2021 tied to mechanical issues and the broader resort shutdown. Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened in 2010 at Islands of Adventure and expanded to Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida in 2014, with Hagrid's adding the third major coaster to the franchise's Orlando footprint. A separate Wizarding World land opened in 2025 at Universal's new Epic Universe park nearby.
