Down a quiet hall, an 18-inch floating off the wall

a note from the studio

The original Frisco grid runs along Main Street between the old grain elevator and the depot square. East of the railway, The Star, the Dallas Cowboys' practice complex, anchors the corporate spine that climbs north along the Dallas North Tollway: PGA Frisco, Toyota Stadium, the National Videogame Museum, the Omni resort. The Blackland Prairie still shows itself along Stewart Creek and the trails of Frisco Commons. Two centuries living inside the same city limits.

Frisco, on ceramic.

Each tile is finished by hand in our Knoxville studio. Artwork is slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, and rests beneath a thin glossy finish. The colour lives in the surface, not on top of it.

about Frisco

The place, in three passes.

A little of what's known, in case you fall down the rabbit hole — or want to go see it yourself.
the place

Frisco sits on the Blackland Prairie about thirty miles north of downtown Dallas, straddling the Collin and Denton county line. The town was founded in 1902 as a stop on the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway and took its short name from the line. From the 2000 to the 2020 census the population grew from roughly 33,000 to nearly 211,000, making Frisco one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States across two decades. The Dallas North Tollway forms its eastern spine, and Preston Road tracks its western edge.

the year

The Dallas Cowboys moved their practice headquarters to The Star, on the corner of Warren Parkway and the Tollway, in 2016, and training camp activity through August now draws crowds to the open practice fields. PGA of America relocated its headquarters from Florida to Frisco in 2022, and the Fields Ranch courses at Omni PGA Frisco Resort host the KPMG Women's PGA Championship along with the PGA Championship beginning in 2027. FC Dallas plays its Major League Soccer home matches at Toyota Stadium from late February through October.

the visit

The Star is open to visitors most days, with self-guided access to the main atrium and the Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop free of charge; ticketed tours of the practice facility run on weekday afternoons. PGA Frisco's Fields Ranch East and West are public-access championship courses; tee times are released through the Omni resort, and the Swing club is open for casual play in the evenings. The National Videogame Museum on John Hickman Parkway is open Tuesday through Sunday from eleven to seven.

common questions

What people ask.

A few questions we get about Frisco — and about bringing the piece home.
about the place

On the Blackland Prairie about thirty miles north of downtown Dallas, straddling the Collin and Denton county line. The Dallas North Tollway runs through its eastern half.

From the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, the Frisco Line, which laid a stop here in 1902. The town's original name was Emerson, changed because it duplicated another Texas post office.

The Dallas Cowboys' world headquarters and indoor practice facility, The Star, opened on Warren Parkway in 2016 in partnership with the city and Frisco ISD. The complex covers ninety-one acres.

The new world headquarters of the PGA of America, opened in 2022, with two championship courses, a practice park, the Lounge by Topgolf, and the 500-room Omni PGA Frisco Resort.

The 2000 census recorded about 33,000 residents; the 2020 census recorded just under 211,000. Frisco was the fastest-growing US city in 2017 and 2018 by Census Bureau measure.

A permanent collection of arcade cabinets and home systems from the 1970s onward, plus a 1980s living-room recreation and a working arcade. It opened on John Hickman Parkway in 2016.

about the piece in your home

It has been a meaningful piece for our Frisco and broader DFW customers. The downtown red-brick and prairie palette reads as home; a Medium with a handwritten studio note carries well.

The warm tones suit Texas Modern, Hill Country, and Transitional interiors. The deep stained-glass blues anchor well in a sports-themed library or a study with leather and brushed nickel.

Yes. Companies relocating staff into Frisco, and the city's youth-sports families, commission Coaster Sets and Small tiles as welcome pieces. A Large reads across a conference room.

A single Large covers most sofas. A 4-tile Mural fills wider walls; a 9-tile Mural reads at architectural scale above a long console or fireplace.

Yes, in Dura Satin or Matte finish. Both are scratch-resistant and tolerate steam; the Glossy finish is meant for framed wall work in dry rooms.

A soft microfibre cloth and clean water. No solvents, no abrasive pads. The colour lives in the surface and does not lift with normal cleaning.

Yes. Every piece in the WenderVista atlas is curated and finished by Reid Wender and the studio. No licensing, no stock imagery.
