Disney's Hollywood Studios

— the boulevard that keeps the matinee.

Where it lives

Not only on a wall.

A small tile on the nightstand catching the morning. A larger one above the fire. Yours, wherever you spend the slow hours.
On the nightstand, a 6-inch on a walnut stand
Among the books, a 6-inch leaning into the spines
Beside the kettle, a 12-inch propped
Down a quiet hall, an 18-inch floating off the wall
Above the fire, the 24-inch in a walnut surround
a note from the studio

A back-lot dream of old Hollywood pinned to a Florida lake. The Chinese Theatre at the end of the boulevard, the Tower of Terror cutting the skyline, and a queue snaking toward Batuu after dark. Families come for the rides and stay for the way the lights pretend it's still 1939.

Disney's Hollywood Studios, on ceramic.

Each tile is finished by hand in our Knoxville studio. Artwork is slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, and rests beneath a thin glossy finish. The colour lives in the surface, not on top of it.

about Disney's Hollywood Studios

The place, in three passes.

A little of what's known, in case you fall down the rabbit hole — or want to go see it yourself.
the place

Disney's Hollywood Studios sits inside the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida, about twenty miles southwest of downtown Orlando. The park opened on May 1, 1989, as Disney-MGM Studios and took its current name in January 2008. Across roughly 135 acres it gathers six themed lands, anchored by Hollywood Boulevard and the Chinese Theatre replica that houses Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the fourteen-acre expansion built around the planet Batuu, opened on August 29, 2019, and remains the park's largest single addition.

the visit

Headliner rides like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway run on the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass systems, so the gate-rush is less about sprinting than booking on the My Disney Experience app at 7 a.m. Standard one-day tickets are date-priced. The Hollywood Tower Hotel, home to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, rises 199 feet above Sunset Boulevard and remains the park's tallest structure. Fantasmic returns most evenings at the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater.

the light

After dusk the boulevard does the work the daylight cannot. The neon along Hollywood Boulevard warms first, then the Carthay Circle marquee, then the perimeter of the Chinese Theatre. By full dark Galaxy's Edge reads as another planet entirely, the spires of Black Spire Outpost lit from beneath in cool blues and rust. The closing show, Wonderful World of Animation, throws projection mapping across the Chinese Theatre facade. Photographers favor the half hour between sunset and full dark from the bridge over Echo Lake.

common questions

What people ask.

A few questions we get about Disney's Hollywood Studios — and about bringing the piece home.
about the place

The park opened on May 1, 1989, as Disney-MGM Studios and was renamed Disney's Hollywood Studios in January 2008. It was the third theme park built at Walt Disney World Resort.

A fourteen-acre themed land set on the fictional planet Batuu, opened August 29, 2019. It houses two rides, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

The Hollywood Tower Hotel rises 199 feet above Sunset Boulevard, just under the 200-foot FAA threshold that would require an aircraft warning beacon. It remains the park's tallest structure.

Disney-MGM Studios, from the 1989 opening until January 2008, when the MGM licensing deal lapsed and Disney rebranded the park as Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Disney sells Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass selections through the My Disney Experience app, with bookings opening at 7 a.m. on the day of visit for standard guests.

Wonderful World of Animation projects scenes from Disney and Pixar films onto the Chinese Theatre facade most evenings. Fantasmic runs separately at the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater earlier in the night.

about the piece in your home

Yes. The tile reads as the park itself rather than as a character-merchandise souvenir, which travels well for repeat visitors and annual passholders. A Medium with a handwritten note from the studio carries the gesture.

The warm boulevard palette settles into Mid-century, Hollywood Regency, and warm-eclectic rooms. It also reads well alongside vintage movie posters and framed black-and-white photography on a gallery wall.

The piece reads as art rather than character merchandise, so it suits a child's room without dating quickly. A Small above a reading nook holds attention without overwhelming the wall.

A single Large reads cleanly above most sofas. For a longer wall, a four-tile Mural carries the boulevard depth; a nine-tile Mural anchors a larger living or family room.

Yes. Choose the Dura Satin or Matte finish; both are scratch-resistant and handle bathroom steam or kitchen splatter without dulling. The Glossy finish stays in drier rooms.

A microfibre cloth and warm water is enough. Skip spray cleaners and abrasives. The colour is slowly infused into the ceramic surface under heat and pressure, so it will not wipe off.

Yes. Every WenderVista tile is painted in the studio's own visual language by Reid Wender, the curator. There is no licensing and no third-party reproduction.
