a note from the studio

Seven themed zones around a lagoon, a few minutes south of downtown Singapore. Hollywood at the front gate, then New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away, Madagascar. The silver globe at the entrance is the meeting place. Families queue early for Transformers and Battlestar Galactica. By evening the heat softens and the lagoon picks up the light from every façade at once. from the studio

Universal Studios Singapore, on ceramic.

Each tile is finished by hand in our Knoxville studio. Artwork is slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, and rests beneath a thin glossy finish. The colour lives in the surface, not on top of it.

about Universal Studios Singapore

The place, in three passes.

A little of what's known, in case you fall down the rabbit hole — or want to go see it yourself.
the place

Universal Studios Singapore sits inside Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island, reached by car, monorail, or a short cable car from Mount Faber. The park opened on 18 March 2010 as the first Universal park in Southeast Asia and remains one of two in Asia, alongside Universal Studios Japan in Osaka. The grounds wrap a central lagoon, with seven themed zones radiating outward from the silver globe at the front gate. The park sits roughly fifteen minutes from Singapore's central business district.

the visit

The park opens most days at 11:00 and closes by 19:00, with extended hours during school holidays and Halloween Horror Nights in October. A single-day adult ticket runs about S$83, with Express passes available for shorter queues on signature rides like Transformers: The Ride and Battlestar Galactica: Human vs. Cylon. The walk from VivoCity via the Sentosa Boardwalk takes about ten minutes and is sheltered. Locker rentals sit near the entrance plaza; ride-photo pickup is in Hollywood.

the light

The park reads warmest in the last hour before dusk, when the equatorial sun drops fast and the painted façades along New York and Hollywood pick up a low orange wash. The Far Far Away castle catches it first, then the lagoon mirrors the sky for a few minutes. By 19:30 the lamp posts along Hollywood Boulevard are lit and the globe at the gate is uplit in white. Singapore sits one degree north of the equator, so twilight is short and the change is quick.

common questions

What people ask.

A few questions we get about Universal Studios Singapore — and about bringing the piece home.
about the place

The park opened on 18 March 2010 as the first Universal Studios theme park in Southeast Asia. It sits inside Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island, about fifteen minutes south of downtown Singapore.

Seven themed zones ring a central lagoon: Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away, and Madagascar. The silver rotating globe at the entrance is the customary meeting point.

Take the MRT to HarbourFront, then walk the Sentosa Boardwalk or ride the Sentosa Express monorail one stop to Waterfront. The cable car from Mount Faber is the scenic option. Total travel from downtown is about thirty minutes.

Transformers: The Ride 3D in Sci-Fi City and the dual Battlestar Galactica: Human vs. Cylon coasters draw the longest queues. Revenge of the Mummy in Ancient Egypt and Puss in Boots' Giant Journey in Far Far Away round out the headliners.

Halloween Horror Nights runs select evenings in late September and October, with themed haunted houses and scare zones replacing the daytime park experience. Tickets are separate from regular admission and sell out early.

Most visitors find one full day sufficient. With an Express pass the major rides can be cleared in six to seven hours; without one, plan for the full eleven-hour operating day during peak season.

about the piece in your home

It carries well for that. Visitors tend to remember the globe at the gate and the lagoon at dusk. A Small or Medium with a handwritten note from the studio holds those two images in one piece.

The piece reads best in colour-forward rooms: jewel-tone Maximalist, mid-century playful, or a child's or teen's room where the painted façade colours echo bedding and posters. Less suited to strict Minimalist or Japandi.

Yes. Theme-park keepsakes have shifted from souvenir-shop prints toward gallery-quality framed pieces for entryways and family rooms. The Medium hung at eye level near a key drop reads as a small framed painting, not merchandise.

Above a standard sofa, a single Large or a 4-tile Mural fills the wall without crowding. Above a console or entry bench, the Medium centred reads best. For a feature wall, a 9-tile Mural carries the full lagoon scene.

Yes, in the Dura Satin or Matte finish. Both are scratch-resistant and handle steam and splashes. The Glossy finish is reserved for framed wall art in dry rooms.

A dry microfibre cloth handles dust. For a kitchen or bathroom install, a damp microfibre with plain water lifts splash residue. No solvents, no abrasive pads, no glass cleaner.

Yes. Every WenderVista piece is original work from a single studio in Knoxville, Tennessee. We do not license images from other artists or stock libraries.
