“A city on the Oka, about two hundred kilometres southeast of Moscow, with a white-walled kremlin set on a bluff above the floodplain. The Cathedral of the Dormition rises in five domes over the lower town. Below the walls, the river makes a slow bend through meadow and birch. In winter the whole bluff goes silvered and quiet.
Each tile is finished by hand in our Knoxville studio. Artwork is slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, and rests beneath a thin glossy finish. The colour lives in the surface, not on top of it.
