“The home of Juventus FC, opened in 2011 on the footprint of the old Stadio delle Alpi. A compact ground for roughly 41,500 supporters, with the touchline four metres from the seats. The Alps close the northern horizon on clear evenings. Observed from the studio, an ordinary cathedral of Italian football, held in colour on the tile.
Each tile is finished by hand in our Knoxville studio. Artwork is slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, and rests beneath a thin glossy finish. The colour lives in the surface, not on top of it.

The Allianz Stadium, still widely known by its original name Juventus Stadium, sits in the Vallette district at the northern edge of Turin, in the Italian region of Piemonte. It opened on 8 September 2011 on the same site as the demolished Stadio delle Alpi, a much larger venue built for the 1990 World Cup that the club had never warmed to. The new ground holds about 41,507 spectators, was financed entirely by Juventus FC, and was the first stadium in Italy owned outright by its club.
The architects, Gino Zavanella and Hernando Suárez, drew the stands close to the pitch: the front row sits just 7.5 metres from the touchline, less than half the distance at the old Delle Alpi. Two cable-stayed pylons, each 84 metres tall, carry the lightweight roof. The exterior is clad in dark anodised steel and pale travertine, with the names of more than 30,000 founding subscribers etched into the entry plaza, a record kept on stone rather than paper.
The Italian football season runs from late August to late May, with Juventus playing roughly nineteen home league fixtures plus Coppa Italia and European nights. The 2014 UEFA Europa League final was played here; the 2022 UEFA Women's Euro final was also held at the ground. The Juventus Museum, opened in 2012 alongside the stadium, displays the club's trophies, including 36 Serie A titles, the most of any Italian club, and is open to visitors most days of the year outside match windows.
