“The biggest of Fiji's islands, about 10,400 square kilometres of volcanic ridge and reef. Suva, the capital, sits on the wet southeast coast; Nadi and the airport on the drier west. The Coral Coast runs between them. Tomanivi rises in the interior, just over 1,300 metres. The Sigatoka River cuts down through cane fields to the sea. Everything else is reef, and time. — from the studio
Each tile is finished by hand in our Knoxville studio. Artwork is slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, and rests beneath a thin glossy finish. The colour lives in the surface, not on top of it.

Viti Levu is the principal island of the Republic of Fiji, roughly 10,400 square kilometres, and home to about three-quarters of the country's population. It is volcanic in origin, ringed by reef, and split by a high spine running northeast to southwest. The capital, Suva, sits on the wet southeast; Nadi and the international airport on the drier west. Mount Tomanivi, at 1,324 metres, is Fiji's highest point. The Sigatoka River drains the southern interior to the Coral Coast.
Viti Levu is encircled by a near-continuous fringing and barrier reef system. The Great Sea Reef extends northwest from the island, the third-longest barrier reef on Earth at about 200 kilometres. Beqa Lagoon, off the south coast, is the home water of the firewalkers of Beqa village. The Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, the small islands offshore from Nadi, are reached by a short ferry.
The dry season runs May through October, with steadier trade winds and lower humidity; the wet season November through April brings tropical rain and occasional cyclones. Sea temperatures stay in the high 20s Celsius year-round. The west coast around Nadi gets roughly half the annual rainfall of Suva. Visitors typically fly into Nadi International Airport (NAN) and reach the Coral Coast or the Mamanucas by road or ferry.
