Universal Studios Beijing

a Hollywood backlot built on the Tongzhou plain.

Where it lives

Not only on a wall.

A small tile on the nightstand catching the morning. A larger one above the fire. Yours, wherever you spend the slow hours.
On the nightstand, a 6-inch on a walnut stand
Among the books, a 6-inch leaning into the spines
Beside the kettle, a 12-inch propped
Down a quiet hall, an 18-inch floating off the wall
Above the fire, the 24-inch in a walnut surround
a note from the studio

Universal Studios Beijing opened in September 2021 in Tongzhou District, the city's eastern subcentre, about an hour by Metro Line 7 from central Beijing. Seven themed lands sit around a central lagoon: Minion Land, Transformers Metrobase, Kung Fu Panda's Land of Awesomeness, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Jurassic World Isla Nublar, Hollywood, and WaterWorld. It is Universal's first park on the Chinese mainland.

Universal Studios Beijing, on ceramic.

Each tile is finished by hand in our Knoxville studio. Artwork is slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, and rests beneath a thin glossy finish. The colour lives in the surface, not on top of it.

about Universal Studios Beijing

The place, in three passes.

A little of what's known, in case you fall down the rabbit hole — or want to go see it yourself.
the place

Universal Studios Beijing sits in Tongzhou District, about 26 kilometres east of Tiananmen Square and reached by Beijing Subway Line 7 and the Batong line. Construction began in 2015 on roughly four square kilometres of former farmland, and the park opened to the public on 20 September 2021 after a one-week soft launch. It operates as a joint venture between Universal Parks and Resorts and the state-owned Beijing Shouhuan Cultural Tourism Investment, the third Universal park in Asia after Osaka and Singapore.

the visit

The park opens at 10 in the morning and closes at 7 or 8 in the evening, with longer hours during the Golden Week holiday and Spring Festival. A standard one-day ticket runs between 418 and 748 yuan depending on the date tier, with an Express Pass adding significant cost. The official Universal Beijing Resort app handles reservations, queue times, and mobile food orders. Most international visitors take Line 7 to Universal Resort Station, which exits directly into CityWalk, the open-air retail street.

the year

The peak crowds fall during the seven-day National Day Golden Week in early October and across Spring Festival in late January or February, when same-day tickets often sell out by mid-morning. Summer school holidays from late June into August bring heavy domestic family traffic. Halloween Horror Nights run on selected October evenings, and the park dresses for Christmas through December. February air can drop below freezing on the lagoon, so the WaterWorld show goes seasonal.

about the piece in your home

Park visitors carry the place home as a specific memory: a ride, a CityWalk meal, the lagoon at night. A Coaster Set or Small reads as recognition rather than souvenir.

The tile's saturated stained-glass colour and lamp-black line suit Maximalist, Pop-Modern, and playful Mid-century interiors. It also works well in a child's room or a family game space.

A Large reads above a console. Above a three-seat sofa, a four-tile or nine-tile Mural carries the proportion better. For a child's room, a Small or Medium usually fits the wall.

Yes, in the Dura Satin or Matte finish, both scratch-resistant and made for vertical installation. The glossy finish is best kept to dry interior walls and framed pieces.

Microfibre cloth and plain water for routine cleaning, mild dish soap for kitchen splatter. Avoid abrasive pads, bleach, and acidic descalers, which dull the surface over time.

Yes. Every WenderVista piece is created and finished in our Knoxville studio under Reid Wender's eye. The tile is the studio's own painting of the place, not a licensed character product.
