— the long day at the long end of the line.

Where it lives

Not only on a wall.

A small tile on the nightstand catching the morning. A larger one above the fire. Yours, wherever you spend the slow hours.

a note from the studio

The largest theme park in Australia, spread across roughly 30 hectares on the Coomera plain north of Surfers Paradise. Dreamworld opened in 1981 with the Captain Sturt paddle-steamer and an Australian wildlife enclosure called Tiger Island. The roller coasters arrived later. From the top of the Giant Drop, the line of the Gold Coast reads as a long pale ruler along the Pacific. from the studio

about Dreamworld

A little of what's known, in case you fall down the rabbit hole — or want to go see it yourself.
the place

Dreamworld is an amusement and wildlife park at Coomera on the northern Gold Coast in Queensland, about 70 kilometres south of Brisbane by the Pacific Motorway. It opened on December 15, 1981, the project of John Longhurst, and has grown into the country's largest theme park, covering roughly 30 hectares. The site shares an entry corridor with the WhiteWater World aquatic park next door, both operated by Ardent Leisure Group.

the visit

The park opens daily from 10 in the morning, with a single-day pass that covers Dreamworld and WhiteWater World on the same wristband. The signature rides include the Giant Drop free-fall tower at 119 metres, the Tower of Terror II coaster, and the Steel Taipan launch coaster, which opened in 2021. The Tiger Island enclosure and Corroboree wildlife precinct anchor the non-ride half of the park.

the year

Queensland school holidays in late June, late September, and December drive the park's busiest weeks of the year, with Brisbane and Sydney families arriving by the Pacific Motorway. The October 2016 Thunder River Rapids accident, which killed four guests, led to a long safety overhaul and the eventual closure of that ride. Memorials at the site mark the date each anniversary.

What people ask.

A few questions we get about Dreamworld — and about bringing the piece home.
about the place

Dreamworld sits at Coomera on the northern Gold Coast in Queensland, about 70 kilometres south of Brisbane and 17 kilometres inland from Surfers Paradise. The Pacific Motorway runs directly past the gate.

Dreamworld opened on December 15, 1981, founded by John Longhurst. The original attractions included the Captain Sturt paddle-steamer and the Tiger Island wildlife enclosure. Major roller coasters were added through the 1990s and 2000s.

The park covers roughly 30 hectares at Coomera, making it the largest theme park in Australia. It shares its entrance precinct with the WhiteWater World aquatic park, both operated by Ardent Leisure Group.

Signature rides include the Giant Drop, a 119-metre free-fall tower; the Tower of Terror II launch coaster; and the Steel Taipan, a multi-launch coaster opened in 2021. Tiger Island anchors the non-ride half of the park.

Tiger Island is the park's tiger enclosure and conservation programme, opened in 1995. It houses Bengal and Sumatran tigers under a daily-presentation programme used to fund wild tiger protection through the Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation.

Queensland school holidays in late June, late September, and through December drive peak attendance. Weekday visits outside those windows are noticeably quieter, with shorter queues on the marquee rides.

about the piece in your home

Yes. Dreamworld is the childhood landmark for two generations of southeast Queensland kids. A Coaster or Small with a handwritten note from the studio reads as fond rather than touristic.

The warm pastels and Pacific blues sit well with coastal-modern, Australian mid-century, and child's-bedroom interiors. The piece carries more nostalgia than a generic skyline print.

Yes. Nostalgic-specific art has moved away from generic retro icons toward named places people actually went as kids. A real Australian theme park reads more personal than a stock carousel print.

Above a standard sofa, the Large works as a single tile. For more presence above a console or in a playroom, a four-tile Mural or a nine-tile Mural carries the wall.

Yes. Order the Dura Satin or Matte finish for any room with steam or splashes. Both resist scratches and clean with a microfibre cloth. The Glossy finish is intended for dry display walls.

A microfibre cloth and plain water are enough. The colour is slowly infused into the ceramic surface under high heat and pressure, so it cannot lift with normal cleaning. Skip abrasive pads and solvent sprays.

Yes. Every WenderVista tile is original studio work, hand-finished in Knoxville. We do not license the visual language to other shops and do not reproduce other artists' compositions.
